| Artist Statement Marco Garcia’s is an interdisciplinary artist whose current practice consists of textile, performance, video and installation. He crafts alternatives spaces, spaces that do not readily exist, to enact his gender and sexuality. With a mix and match/hodgepodge approach he fuses reality and fantasies in each plushy, textile object to further discuss his views on queer family dynamics, and role-playing. “Daddy” becomes a sanctuary, a safe place of refuge, where Garcia, A.K.A. Kico Le Strange, can exist and perform outside of hetero-normativity. |
