SUMMARY:Work MORE 7: Daughters of a Riot | May 27 & 28
DESCRIPTION:Ox and QCC present\nWork MORE 7: Daughters of a Riot\nMay 27 and 28th\nBrava Theater 8pm\nVivvyAnne ForeverMORE!\nTickets: $15-20\nMay 27th Show: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2543448\nMay 28th Show: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2543450\nWebsite: http://www.micasigourney.com/work-more-7-daugters-of-a-riot/ \nIn Daughters of a Riot\, Lol McFiercen\, Honey Mahogany\, Dulce De Leche and VivvyAnne ForeverMORE! bring to the stage moments of queer history when drag and gender transgression have exploded into riots of resistance. With lipsynch\, singing\, video and audience participation these queens trace queer genealogies and histories that brought them to the stage\, celebrating the queer ancestors who paved the way. \nWork MORE! provides a platform for collaborative artmaking that utilizes drag to disturb traditional notions of beauty\, femininity and masculinity while promoting interdisciplinary collaborations among artists who co-create rather than compete. In mainstream culture\, drag is framed as a solo performance created by one male artist\, traditionally in clubs and bars. Work MORE! builds on San Francisco’s long history of drag as a community-building strategy. \nARTISTS’ BIOGRAPHIES \nParticipating Artists:\nVivvyAnne ForeverMORE!\nDulce De Leche\nHoney Mahogany\nVideo: Aron Kantor \nDiscipline: Theater/Drag \n
