San Francisco is a city of small town boys — or so it seems. Ask a gay man where he is from, and you’ll hear destinations near and far. Whether it’s the Bible Belt or the Rust Belt, the Eastern Seaboard or the Gulf Coast we all came from somewhere. What did we leave behind? And what did we hope to find in San Francisco?

This presentation from GuyWriters will offer a night of poetry, fiction, plays and essays on life before the big city. Members of GuyWriters, along with special guest readers, will share the gay experience outside the San Francisco bubble. These are the stories of gay life in Middle America and beyond, stories of childhood haunts and how they made us into the men we are today. Join GuyWriters for a trip back home.
