(un)Godly (w)Rites is a spoken word event programmed by Lito Sandoval as part of Galería de la Raza’s ongoing Lunada poetry series.  (un)Godly (w)Rites’ Featured Writers are Carla Trujillo and Ray Ferrer.  Ms. Trujillo is the editor of Chicana Lesbians: The Girls Our Mothers Warned Us About (1991) which won the LAMBDA Book Award for Best Lesbian Anthology and the Out/Write Vanguard Award for Best Pioneering Contribution to the field of Gay/Lesbian Lifestyle Literature. She also edited Living Chicana Theory (1998).  Ray Ferrer performs in drag as Cuban spitfire Coco Lopez. is a humorist and drag performer who has presented his work in Boston, Washington DC, Chicago, Miami and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Locally he’s performed at QComedy, Writers with Drinks, the Castro Street Fair, Funny Girlz at the Herbst Theater, and Daddy’s. (un)Godly (w)Rites takes place at Galería de la Raza, 2857-24th St. Wednesday, June 22, 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m..  Free Admission.
