Bar life has sustained Perra Pumps’ family for three generations and, now, she is on the verge of losing her bar! Her building has been sold and the new landlord is raising the rent. In Last Call, she tries to make sense of this shift with closest friend, DJ Mikey Flexxx, The Virgen De Guadalupe and the spirits of the family she’s built at the Bar. Together they share songs, stories, secrets, and tequila shots!
Perra Pumps is the more fabulous and uninhibited half of performer, producer and writer Javier Luis Hurtado. Part of a trilogy of plays that Hurtado is writing about Perra and the her bar.
Last Call had it’s first workshop in 2012 at 95 Empire in Rhode Island as an Artist in Residence at AS220 in Rhode Island. The show was further developed and premiered under the direction of Ruben C. Gonzalez at El Teatro Campesino in San Juan Bautista.
