Gay Asian Pacific Alliance (GAPA) presents In Light & Love: the GAPA Men’s Chorus 25th Anniversary Concert, a full-length repertory program which will honor and celebrate a quarter century of achievement. Highlighting an extensive song list from our past 25 years of history, the concert will feature a choral repertoire rooted in Asian Pacific musical traditions, as well as songs that speak directly to our experience as queer APIs. While focusing primarily on GAPA Men’s Chorus, the program will also be multi-disciplinary, incorporating the talents of other community-based performance groups, including special guest artists Oakland-East Bay Gay Men’s Chorus and Likha Pilipino Folk Ensemble. A celebratory showcase dedicated to gay and API artists and subject matter, the program provides a unique spotlight on queer API performance, while also giving voice to the intersectionality of gender, sexuality, ethnicity, and culture.
