Creating Queer Community 2011

Attending this 90-minute workshop is mandatory for artists and arts organizations seeking to participate in QCC’s 2012 National Queer Arts Festival or in our 2012 Healthy Community Program.

This year, QCC will invite 30 artists and ensembles who attended this initial session to participate in two 6-hour intensive artistic program planning and grantwriting workshops. QCC will subsequently award at least 20 commissions between $250 and $1000 to LGBT artists working in all disciplines to create and stage innovative community-building projects. Cross-cultural, multi-ethnic and intergenerational projects are strongly encouraged. Artists previously supported by QCC are eligible to pursue a commission; 501(c)3 arts organizations are ineligible to apply.
