| Artist StatementWork from the “Fairy Series” highlights the homogenization of queer culture into the mainstream. The work consists of pages from vintage gay male erotic magazines and pansy-printed fabric. As a gay man in mid-life, I couple these materials to honor a gay history that includes fighting for a place within a larger sexual and cultural revolution and the festive, yet mundane, assimilation into marriage equality. |
