Comedian/comedy producer, Lisa Geduldig, (Kung Pao Kosher Comedy) began her stand up comedy career 21 years ago at El Rio in San Francisco’s Mission District. Last May, in celebration of her 20th anniversary of performing, she brought comedy back to El Rio, the club that first put her onstage. Geduldig strives to produce multicultural, multi-everything comedy shows with the variety of shows she has been producing for the past 17 years. The line-ups are always a diverse cultural, gender, and sexual orientation mix. Comedy Returns to El Rio takes place every 2nd Monday of the month. June’s show will be a queer comedy night featuring: Karen Ripley, David Hawkins, Ray Ferrer, and Lisa Geduldig.
Biographies Karen Ripley began her comedy career in 1977 (33 years ago!) in the heyday of the LGBT comedy movement in San Francisco. David Hawkins’ manic style mixes pop culture fanaticism with punk rock cynicism into a style both nerdy and naughty. Ray Ferrer’s comedy looks at how hilarious it is to be Cuban, Irish, and queer. Lisa Geduldig is the creator, producer, & MC of Kung Pao Kosher Comedy; The George Bush Going Away Party; Funny Girlz; A Muslim, A Mormon, and A Jew Walk into A Bar; The Color of Funny; and Charo! |
