JUNE 23rd! The last night for this ground-breaking event. Exploring the friction at the intersection of the trans and queer communities are some of the most talented queer lit and performance artists including: Lynn Breedlove, Thea Hillman, Katastrophe, Max Wolf Valerio, Jerrell Perry and Shawna Virago. Q&A follows each session.

TransForming Community explores the friction at the intersection of contemporary trans and queer communities. With a burgeoning transsexual community growing in tandem with a genderqueer movement, what are the issues that arise when non-trans queers share cultural space with transpeople and genderqueers? With distinctly different needs and identities, what needs to be worked out between the transsexual and genderqueer communities?

With an extensive question and answer session following each performance, TransForming Community is bound to be a groundbreaking moment in literary performance.

TransForming Community features some of the most talented and talked-about contemporary queer literary and performance artists:

June 9 – 11th cast – Lynn Breedlove, Thea Hillman, Katastrophe, Julia Serano, Michelle Tea, Max Wolf Valerio, Marcus Rene Van and Shawna Virago.

June 23rd cast – Lynn Breedlove, Thea Hillman, Katastrophe, Max Wolf Valerio, Jerrell Perry and Shawna Virago.
