Black Rage//Black Magic is a sometimes comedic, sometimes musical, sometimes somber, always loving collection of skits and scenes that explore the ways rage impacts the Black body, consciousness, spirit, heart, and family — as a result of systemic, interpersonal, and internalized racism — and the magical ways we turn that rage into an (he)Artistic tool for survival, healing, resilience, dignity, love, and creativity.

This production is the culmination of a 16 week FREE theatre-healing workshop for Black activists, artists, and healers facilitated by ThaHood AlKemist and Jezebel Delilah X. It features extraordinary work written and performed artists like Magnoliah Black, Ray Ray, Larri, LaTasha Monique, La’Quoia Renee, Antoinette Luna, and Sassa Nash.

Please join us while we use the theatre, and love to question, examine, unpack, make fun of, heal and try to understand the impact of, both, overt systemic oppression and everyday microaggressions, on our lives.

Congregation of Liberation is a Queer, Black, Femme lead organization of multi-disciplinary (he)Artists invested in using art and spirituality as a tool for re-imagining social justice, anti-oppression advocacy, community healing, liberation, entertainment, and love. As we believe that Blackness is a constant state of revolution and creativity, and that queerness is a constant state of inquiry and liberation — we proudly create art, workshops, performances, and other productions of community that comes from the magical potency and unique cultural intelligence of living, loving, and thriving at that intersection. We are so grateful for the opportunity of sharing our (he)Art, our magic, our fierceness, and our vulnerability with the world.
