Queer Cultural Center is thrilled to relaunch Crea

Queer Cultural Center is thrilled to relaunch Creating Queer Communities, our beloved professional development training program for queer and trans artists in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are offering this PAID, structured learning and performance opportunity at two levels for the first time. The CQC Level One cohort will perform in the Fall of 2024 in a showcase and the Level Two cohort will perform in the Spring of 2025 in events that the selected cohort members produce. This open call is for the Level One cohort of Creating Queer Communities. We will send a separate call in early 2024 for our second-level offering for established QTBIPOC artists and artist collectives.⁠

One of the things that makes it hard to run a nonprofit is the short supply of “general operating funds”. We’re often limited in the size and reach of programs like Creating Queer Communities because the funding we receive is targeted to specific pieces of specific programs. Donations from individuals, however, allow us to sustain and grow our work from a place of self-determination, autonomy, and choice.
