What happens when ex-porn star, sexologist and performance artist Annie Sprinkle falls madly in love with experimental artist, professor and sexy dyke playboy Elizabeth Stephens? Biographies:
Elizabeth M. Stephens is an artist and professor who lives and works in San Francisco. She is an Associate Professor of Art and Digital Art/New Media at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Stephens is an intermedia artist who works in sculpture, video installation, photography, web based media and performance art. Her most recent works include the bronze sculptural installation, The Academic/Porn Star Panty Collection; the road trip performance piece Wish You Were Here; the video installation, Kiss; as well as her ongoing collaboration with Annie Sprinkle in the Love Art Laboratory. She has exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the United States, Europe and Russia. See more of her work at elizabethstephens.org.
Annie M. Sprinkle in a former life was a porn actress, pin up model, and proud prostitute for twenty years. She became a performance artist and toured one woman shows about her life in the sex industry to many countries, with her shows, Post Porn Modernist, Metamorphosex, and Annie Sprinkle’s Herstory of Porn. Annie Sprinkle is the first porn actress to earn a Ph.D. Her new book is Dr. Sprinkle’s Spectacular Sex—Make Over Your Love Life, published by Penguin. See anniesprinkle.org for more details.
Neon Weiss (Director) has been involved in creating theater, film, and animation for the better part of her life. Among her accomplishments as a director are the films The Pain Game, and Tie Me Up both with Cleo Dubois, and pop videos for the band Two Nice Girls. She has created and performed the original productions Dyke Cum Fag, I only Fuck My Friends, and Bitter Sweet Tooth performed in New York, San Francisco, and Chicago. She has a BFA from NYU in Experimental Theater and an MA in Counseling Psychology. Weiss is a practicing Drama Therapist using freeform improvisation to help create more spontaneity and possibility in the lives of her clients.
Sheila A. Malone (Media Design and Live Soundscape) –After studying in France and Germany, Sheila A. Malone received her B.A. in Theatre Arts from Virginia Tech University. For seven years she was the resident Lighting Designer and Sound Director at the Omaha Theatre Company. In 1999, she left Nebraska to pursue her M.F.A. in Computer Arts at CADRE Laboratory for New Media at San Jose State University. Recently she collaborated with Annie Sprinkle as co-director on her film Annie Sprinkle’s Amazing World of Orgasm. Her collaboration with the Love Art Laboratory brings together all her years of experience in theatre and her more recent gender and technology interests.
