Artist Statment Gender is a theme in my work for many years. I worked a lot with transgenders and femininity. The series I’m working on is about men.I interview men about their personal struggles with masculinity and/or femininity. Parts of their identity that they can not show often because it’s to provocative. Each man has his own theme with which we make a picture. This could involve wearing womans clothes, dance, sexuality, shame, death and love…I’m still working on this series. A part of the series is shown at Gallery Mooiman in Groningen (NL) en The Darkroom Gallery in Vermont, (USA). A small series was publicated in Mein Schwules Auge, an art/gay magazine in Germany.
