MASCellaneous: We All Wear Mascs
With drag artist Jota Mercury

MASCellaneous is a creative workshop series exploring queer masculinities. The program seeks to create new queer masculine archetypes, shift existing queer masculine culture and to create affinity amongst cis and trans men and masculine of center women and non-binary people. In the final workshop of the 2021 Spring/Summer series, dancer and performance artist Javier Stell-Frésquez will lead participants through 90-minutes of discussion and movement-based facilitated sharing.

ARTIST(S)

Javier Stell-Frésquez (she/her, he/him) (Piru & Tigua, two-spirit, mix-raced, Xicanx from El Paso, Texas) serves Indigenous communities of the Bay, with the Two-Spirits Powwow. She received a B.S. in Environmental Science with honors in Chican@ Studies from Stanford University. With life-long experience in many dance forms and performance art, she has competed in the voguing House Ballroom Scene. His current multi-media performance projects include Chaac & Yum, a Two-Spirit Dance Project and Mother the Verb.
