words on screen – to show the lesbian identity as literally
self-constructed.

A young queer Indian woman living in a West Auckland housing estate
is caught between to sets of irreconcilable differences.

Beauty Parlor (18mins) by Mehreen Jabbar, 1998, Pakistan

Surviving Sabu (15mins) by Ian Iqbal Rashid, 1997, UK

Asian man and his father, refracted through the images of the late
film star Sabu of “Jungle Book” and “Elephant Boy”.
